Terms and Conditions

1. Scope of Work

Keychanges BCP provides a professional lock replacement service only. We do not provide lock repairs, internal mechanism repairs, fault diagnosis, or emergency entry (lockout) services.

Our service is strictly limited to the removal of existing external lock hardware and the installation of new locks as agreed with the customer prior to commencement of work.

Where applicable to UPVC or composite doors, we do not service, repair, adjust, or replace internal multipoint locking mechanisms, gearboxes, or associated internal components.

All work is carried out on the understanding that the customer has lawful authority to request the service at the property.

KeyChanges BCP reserves the right to decline or withdraw from work where there is any uncertainty regarding the customer’s authority to request the service, including situations where there may be a dispute over ownership, tenancy, or right of occupation.

2. Alterations & Fittings

To ensure correct installation and security performance of the new lock, minor adjustments to the door or frame (such as enlarging a mortice cut-out or adjusting a strike plate) may be required.

Where such adjustments are necessary, they will be explained and agreed with the customer before work proceeds.

Keychanges BCP is not responsible for issues arising from pre-existing defects, including but not limited to warped, swollen, misaligned, or damaged doors or frames, or worn, seized, or defective internal mechanisms within UPVC or composite door systems, where such conditions affect the performance or operation of the installed lock.

If a pre-existing internal mechanism issue is identified that prevents correct installation or operation of the new lock, we will not carry out remedial work. The customer will be advised and the appointment may be concluded without further works being undertaken.

3. Limitation of Liability

All work is carried out with reasonable skill and care.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Keychanges BCP’s liability for any direct loss or accidental damage arising from the service is limited to the total cost of the service provided.Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We are not liable for:

  • pre-existing damage or defects
  • defective, worn, or failing internal UPVC/composite door mechanisms
  • indirect or consequential loss
  • issues arising where internal door mechanisms prevent correct operation of externally installed hardware
  • We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance where this is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

4. Security Outcome Disclaimer

While all reasonable care is taken during installation, Keychanges BCP does not guarantee prevention of future forced entry, theft, or security incidents. Quality locks and security hardware reduce risk but cannot eliminate it entirely.

5. Payment & Cancellation

Payment is due in full upon completion of the installation unless otherwise agreed in advance.

We request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

6. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions represent the entire agreement between Keychanges BCP and the customer in relation to the services provided. Any variations must be agreed in writing prior to commencement of work.
